detailing question
So i'm in the process of tearing down my 6.0 for a refresh. A friend has offered to polish the facory valve covers and I am going to clean up the heads and make it look nice.
What have you guys done with the aluminium mounts for the power steering pump and altenator. I want it to look nice but not sure if paint is the answer. Keith |

Re: detailing question
I sandblasted it clean, wiped off then hit with the same engine enamel I used on the rest of the engine. Its a cast aluminum, so unless you'd want to have it REALLY polished, paint is the only other option (or hydrographics I guess, but thats not really here nor there)

Re: detailing question
x2...sand/beadblast it and paint or clear coat it, that's about your only options....I want to polish my v/c too and then clearcoat them..

Re: detailing question
I'm thinking about having them powdercoated, but that means a decision on color scheme!
I have not been good with decisions lately! Keith |
