2wd & 4wd bed different??
Is there a differnece in 2wd & 4wd beds? I haven't fully investigated it yet, but I bought a 2wd bed for my wife's 70 4X4 a long time ago. The body lnes don't seem to match up. The bed lines are slightly higher than the cab lines.
Could it just be worn out body mount bushings? The difference is somewhere between 1/4" to 1/2". |

I know that on an 87 or so dodge there was a difference between the beds. I think the frames were different between 2 & 4wd versions cause there was a couple tabs on the 2wd version that prevented it from being able to sit flush with the frame.
I didn't recall there being any tabs on the chevy bed I put on, but that's been a year ago & I haven't crawled under there to look at it again. |

The beds are 100% identical. Cab mounts for 1/2 ton 4x4's are different than 1/2 ton 2wd, but are identical to 3/4 ton 2wd.

So from what CPNE said, what do I do to remedy the misalignment? The trucks a 1/2 ton 4X4. Do I just replace the bushings with the origianl style ones or get a 2wd version?
EDIT: I re-read it & I think you are just saying that the mon=unts are in different places. |

replace your cab mounts (front and rear) with 3/4 ton 2wd cab mount kit. I did this on a 72 1/2 ton 4x4 and had zero problems with body lines as viewed with the naked eye.
