Hey guys, need some part help

I put the front axle from an 87 4x4 Suburban on my 63 Burb. The 87 axle didn't have a pittman arm. I'm having trouble getting the proper pittman arm. Looks like the part houses are sending me a 2x4 arm, 1 end has a tie rod.

What I need is the arm that has 2 open holes, 1 on each end of the arm.

Does anyone here know the part number I need and or where to order it from?

Thanks!

Re: Hey guys, need some part help

Do you mean the piece from the steering box to the drag link?

Might have to get one at a used parts place or maybe off craigs list.

There is one on epay $75 yikes, it's a $10 part used.
Trouble is it isn't easy to get off and usually stays with the steering box.

Thank you very much for the picture, gave me a much better idea of what to search for online. I found a couple on e-bay.

Re: Hey guys, need some part help

OK OK I see what it is...Your steering box is way different.....Vertical Pittman arm as opposed to a horizontal arm. More research is needed! (Not good with the pre 73 iron)

Re: Hey guys, need some part help

OK looks like you will need these brackets and a newer steering box (73-87) And use a 4x4 pitman arm from a 73-87. The CPP kit 6366PSK

Re: Hey guys, need some part help

The axle is off of an 87Burb 4x4, didn't come with the arm. I found the arm on ebay and bought it, and a parts guy at the local Chevy dealer has one he'll sell me if needed.

I bought a reman, PS gear box from an 87 Burb 4x4. Bought brackets from CaptainFab here on the board to mount the new PS box to the 63 frame. I should now be GTG.

Thanks all.

Re: Hey guys, need some part help

So what you needed was the "Steering arm" that bolts to the axle? NOT the "Pittman arm" ????
