Lightbulb 1967 - 1972 GMC Heavy Duty Headlight Harness

Our Heavy Duty Headlight Harness specifically designed for the 67-72 GMC trucks with dual headlights. Our HD Headlight Harness's are the top of the line, and are constructed with quality materials. They are 100% "Plug n' Play" so there is no need to cut or splice any wires what so ever. They feature 4 HD Ceramic H4 Headlight plugs, to ensure a long life and can handle very high wattage bulbs. The standard high beam bulbs on the GMC's utilized a 2 prong plug from the factory, our harness utilizes a standard 3 prong H4 plug, one pin within the the plug simply doesn't get used on the high beams. The harness will work with any headlight set up that utilizes a H4 style plug (eg. Sealed beam, Halogen, HID). With this harness installed, it will draw your power for your headlights directly from the battery (taking all the load off of your OE Headlight switch) and give your headlight the full 13.8V+ they need to run at 100% and give you a very large upgrade in light output!

-------------------------------------------------------------
Below are a few of the benefits of upgrading your headlight Harness:
  • Takes all the load off of your OEM headlight Switch
  • Delivers the full 13.8V+ to your headlights to allow them to run at 100%
  • Increases headlight output to allow for a safer night driving experience
  • Constructed of marine grade 12awg wire
  • Every connection is cleanly soldered and heat shrunk to ensure a long trouble free life
  • H4 Ceramic Headlight Plugs
  • Made in the United States of America
  • HD 30/40 Amp Relays
  • Neatly loomed with heat resistant black loom for a clean pro installation
  • Plugs right into your OEM headlight Harness
  • Comes with complete application specific install directions

Re: 1967 - 1972 GMC Heavy Duty Headlight Harness

I have almost 3000 miles on the truck and my LMC harness is working flawless after I Color matched the wires to the stock plug. I still do not know what I did differently than everyone else?

I am not quite sure what your asking here? We don't sell any import harness's, all of our HD Headlight Harness's are manufactured in the USA in the heart of Minnesota and are 100% Plug n' Play. So there is no need to splice wires or anything like that. And all of our Harness's also feature 12 awg American made wire and HD Ceramic Headlight Connectors which are far superior to the Nylon/Plastic Headlight Connectors.

The difference between our harness's and the inexpensive import harness's is like the difference between apples and oranges. If there is something that we can help you with, please feel free to ask!

The harnesses from LMC come wired incorrectly and does not work. Thats what he is talking about. Looks like this harness here is the one to get.

Re: 1967 - 1972 GMC Heavy Duty Headlight Harness

Alright you got me. Been staring at this for over a week now. I won't need it for a couple of months and was going to wait. I would also like a set of ground straps and a power door lock kit with extra remote. Thank you.

I'm vouching for this harness- I originally bought an LMC harness and after sending the first one back- and getting a second one that also was wired incorrectly I gave up and have been MORE than satisfied with this plug and play harness-- great product!!

What width are those spades that plug into the factory lamp socket to activate the relays? I could never find any wider than 0.250".

The connectors that we utilize to connect the OEM headlight harness to our HD harness are specifically designed connectors for this purpose. The harness's do not use a standard readily available spade connector that you find at your local parts house.

They don't suck, they just need to have some wires switched around to make them work properly. I have the LMC harness and after I swapped the wires it works fine. I forget the exact swap, but I'll see if I can dig up the info.

I remembered I had received a PM from mygmctruck1 explaining how to correct it.
Here it is below - all credit goes to to mygmctruck1:

On the low beam / high beam plug. The correct wiring is as follows. Looking at the back where the wires go in.

* The Black (gr) wire goes in the left slot
* The Brown / Tan wire low beam goes in the top slot
* The Green wire hi beam. Goes in the right slot

** Both of the 3 wire 3 prong plugs need this change

No change is needed with the 2 wire plug

LMC wired it this way - looking at the back.

The Brown wire is in the left slot
The Black (gr) wire is in the right slot
The Green wire is in the top center slot
