Re: anyone have pics of a 1967 327 v8 a/c air injection

I have never seen one, and I thought A.I.R. came along a year or two later even in California and then only on the lower GVWR (1/2 ton) trucks for a couple years. But, since you've seen it on the SPID, I'm probably wrong again and I am by no means an authority on 67s. If it helps, my 69 service manual shows compressor mountings with and without A.I.R. The illustrations show that the 307 & 350 with A.I.R. used the the type of compressor mounting brackets used on 70-72 trucks and those without A.I.R. used the earlier style like yours. Does the 67 manual have any similar illustrations?

Don't know if this helps.

no illistrations in mine. in California in 67 this was a optionon the spid starting in 67. i believe after it became manditory shortly after it was no longer on the spid. not sure when it became law. i seen one truck with this and saved the pic but my computer wont show it. i was just curious cause the truck had the older style a/c brackets.

The assembly manual shows A.I.R. on a A/C small block truck with the later style brackets in the 1968 section. I didn't see anything in the 67 section.

It's sure tough to tell from those pictures. They look a lot like the illustrations I mentioned in my previous posts though. Incidently, the illustrations in the 1969 service manual and the 1968 portion of the assembly manual are identical. However, they are illustrations, not pictures.

heres a pic of a 68 with smog. the upper mount is different than on the 67 and mounts to a head tap and the 67 mounts to the water pump. punp pulley in 67 has 4 bolts and the 68 up have 3.

Re: anyone have pics of a 1967 327 v8 a/c air injection

ChewyChevy67 is correct about the bolts to the heads because 68 was the first year for small blocks to have the bolt holes in the ends of the heads. California first started requiring smog I believe in 66 on some cars and trucks. I have seen a 66 Caprice with a 396 from CA with smog and I have a 67 Olds 442 from CA with smog. The smog revolution hit the 49 states with a vengance in 68 when emission standards were changed for them. I also have a California built 63 Impala with a 327/300 HP that had a bracket for the AC compressor that had a provision for a smog pump, although it didn't have one when I got it. I don't know how it got that unless someone replaced the original bracket because I don't believe that smog pumps were around in 63.
