Even if your truck is rough on the outside....

Guys, It sounds crazy, but I put my new to me dash in and wow what a nice change riding around. See the current and before pics I'm trying to post via photobucket for the first time. I even picked up a windshield mat to protect the nice dash as it's parked outside in the sun

Who cares about the outside as long as you're comfortable in your truck! I put a carpet cover on the dash of my new truck and it was like a world if difference!

Open P-bucket in a seperate tab. Click on the picture in P-bucket to enlarge it. Then click on the bottom bar (IMG). Then open the tab with this site and post a reply...or edit your previous post. Right click and you will see "paste"'tap on that and you will be done.

My buddy's truck is an '85 High Sierra w/original paint that has seen better days, rear bed corner is hammered back out around tail light,it needs a cab corner,he peeled the side trim off...it could use some body work. But,underneath it has rebuilt axles with locker/posi,rear disc brakes, new 2" lift springs, really good 285/75-16s on plain ole 7" Ford wheels painted black with chrome 2" long lug nuts, and a winch up front. On the inside he put all nice stuff from trucks/Blazers/Suburbans he parted. This truck works,so he went with a fresh rubber floor cover. It has a cloth seat, nice dash pad, deluxe seat belts,tilt,'91 sport wheel, clock, and AM/FM/CD Delco stereo. It's a nice truck to drive and you can use it without worrying over it.
From your driver seat point of view is what matters most. Feels good, right?

Back in April, I found an ad on Craigs of a guy parting out an 84 K10 with a 6.2L.....I was shocked when I got there and the thing was nearly gone with guys taking everything except the gauge cluster (which I needed a clock only) and the dash pad....with guys torching off bolts to get the box, axles, etc. off...I asked how much for the dash pad and clock..thinking it was going to be over $100 since it was still there for sales..I tried to hide my excitement when he said $30 bucks!! and just take the whole gauge cluster. That was a lucky day for me and my old truck...

Re: Even if your truck is rough on the outside....

Wow!. That just never happens here in Arizona. The first thing to go is all the plastic, the sun beats the hell out of it....The tradeoff is no rust I guess lol.

the no rust thing would be a nice trade off for sure...my cab is "rough"...no holes in the floor yet...but rust is eating away..
