LMC the only company?

Is LMC the only company out there that sells the reproduction parts for these trucks? How is the quality of the parts?

Re: LMC the only company?

There are many great Vendors right here on this site that offer much better quality and service. Take a look in our Vendor marketplace and see what they have to offer.

Yup... lots of vendors with good reps, and great customer service right here on the board.

Re: LMC the only company?

One thing about the board Vendors ... Most of them own, drive, and work on our trucks. It's more than a business with them. If the parts they sale wouldn't be used on their trucks, than they won't sale the parts.

I haven't had "bad" luck with LMC... but now I ONLY use board vendors for my aftermarket parts needs.

Re: LMC the only company?

LMC does not "make" the parts. They sell parts from manufacturers. I would be surprised if they had any parts that nO one else stocked. I try to use other vendors, but do like their catalog for quick reference to illustrations.

Re: LMC the only company?

I looked in the vendor section. But only found a few scattered items that seemed to be on sale and stuff. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place. What vendors sell all the misc body/interior items?

Click the vendor link and a dropdown menu will come up. Then go to the vendors website for parts.

I get a lot of my stuff from Classic Heartbeat. Wes is the owner, and they are local to me. So not only am I supporting a forum vendor... I'm supporting local merchants to boot.

Ahh there it is. I was looking in the classifieds under the vendors marketplace. That's why I couldn't see them. Thanks again

LMC and Classic Parts is where I have gotten most of my restoration parts. Can't complain about either.

Re: LMC the only company?

I use LMC quite a bit, but the main reason for me is that they are about 5 miles from my mom's so its easy for me to stop by and get what I need. To me their catalog is far better than any others I've seen and their website is pretty good.

The quality of some of their parts is not as good as originals or other manufactures, but for me most are acceptable.

I've heard a lot of discussion about LMC, some good and some bad. All I can say is I've had good luck with them over a number of years.

Re: LMC the only company?

Here is an example of why I do not get anything from LMC unless I absolutely have to. This is a "seal" for our lower control arms compared to a MOOG seal. The small one is the LMC. I do use their catalog to see how things are from the factory though. Nothing compares to original even if you have to dump a lot more time and money if you can find the stuff you need.

Re: LMC the only company?

I DO NOT use LMC anymore, just got tired of there crappy parts and TERRIBLE customer service, not to mention that if you have a question, they can't give you a answer. I use Classic Chevrolet Parts Inc. in Oklahoma City Ok. a few vendors on this site and the parts board. with that combo I have never- paid too much, got crappy parts and I can always get info and EXPERT advise. Re: LMC the only company?

I have had good luck with them so far and great service and parts have all worked great, but I do stop in and buy my parts at the store as its on my way home front work.
The guys behind the counter seem like good guys to me.

DO NOT buy rubber from LMC. Truck and car shop has most everything LMC has (most of it is labeled LMC) for less. Every time.

Re: LMC the only company?

It takes me about an hour to get to either LMC or Classic Parts of America but I wouldn't even mess with LMC anymore. Classic Parts is in Riverside Mo, and I have always had great luck with them and would consider them a much better source for parts than LMC and again its nice that they are close.

x2

I live in Lenexa, KS, about 10 minutes from LMC showroom, but unless I need something in a hurry, I'll drive across town (Kansas City) to Classic Parts. When I worked in downtown KC, I could call in my order and stop on my way home to pick it up.
