Steering Column I.D.

Help me I.D. the tilt column in my 66. Need to replace the turn signal and hazzard light mechanisms and need to know what column to buy parts for. Also looking for a different steering wheel and curious what will fit.

Re: Steering Column I.D.

Looks like a 77-87 floorshift column with the ignition cut out and smoothed over.

I bet the steering lock doesn't work?

no steering lock. doesn't look like any mods were made to it though but I'll give it a better look.

Re: Steering Column I.D.

Yeah the ignition has been removed. 72 was the last year for the ignition on the dash. Looks like they did a nice job on it.

Re: Steering Column I.D.

Pretty sure that column is 84-87. It has the part sticking out of the column where the turn signal lever is, which means that column originally had the wipers and dimmer switch on it. '83 and older were just round there, with the same turn signal lever you have. Someone swapped an older turn signal lever in it, and shaved the ignition. It looks great, though. Whoever did it did a really nice job.
