Freshened up my interior
I finally finished the first stage of freshening up my interior. The next stage will consist of reupholstering the bench seat and new stereo system but this will do for now. I think everything turned out great being that this was my first time ever attempting to do anything like this. I bought the SEM Shadow Blue Color Coat at my local paint supplier (English Color) for $12 per can. Cleaning and prep is the most important step. First I mixed in Clorox with a large busket of very soapy water and used a scuff pad to clean every inch of each piece and then rinsed throroughly. I repeated this process 4 times for each piece. Next I dried off each piece with a lint free microfiber towel. Then I thoroughly cleaned all pieces once again using automotive grade lacquer thinner making sure to only wipe in one direction to keep from spreading the leftover residue. After all this was complete, I let everything sit and dry for 24 hours. Once it was ready for paint I did 2 light coats of Bulldog adhesion promoter with 5 mins between coats. Finally I used the SEM color coats and sprayed 6 lights coats on each piecs with 5 mins flash/dry time between coats. I let everything set for a few days to make sure it was completely dry before I begin re-installing.
Before: After:

Looks great!
I'm getting ready to do the same thing to my '72. Was planning to start today, but then life got in the way...again.

Re: Freshened up my interior
thanks for the compliments guys. Not sure where the dash cover was purchased, it came with the truck when I bought it from the PO. I shampooed and vacuumed it and then used the SEM on it also. I attached it using 3M double sided tape. I ran it along all the edges on the underside of the cover.

Re: Freshened up my interior
THANK YOU for replacing the missing pictures. Pics are perhaps the most useful thing about this site and the internet in general.
Where did you source your new seat covers? They look great yet still original which counts a lot with me.

Re: Freshened up my interior
I ordered the seat cover from Brothers, I had a local upholster add new seat foam and did the install.
