Adjustable bucket seat tracks ??

My Pop is in the process of making some custom bucket seat tracks. In this picture the handle is too long and will be shortened soon .. and overall the seat will be lowered (vs. the stock truck tracks) We haven't gotten the front height perfect yet but I thought I'd post up a picture .. the back is ready to go.

Do you think if we made these, powder coated and offered them up for sale that people would be interested?

These will fit the factory bolt holes and add the adjustability (front / rear slide) on the driver's side. It can be adjusted height wise too just based on the individual and how low you want it. I am 6'4 with a 3OTT and I just wanted the seat to sit a little lower so the gear shift wouldn't be on my knee.

Your thoughts?

Re: Adjustable bucket seat tracks ??

There definately is a demand for bucket seat tracks out there. For some reason there are more bucket seats then slides to mount them on (the fixed passanger sides are already being re-poped). Rust comes to mind. I thought about modifying bench sliders (I believe LonghornCST? has done this) to save some $$ as a good driver side set brings $125-$200 (not sure about the price right now).
To answer your question...yes, if they were well made and reasonably priced they would sell.
Excuse my spelling as my hands are trashed and my brain is jello....but my truck is almost done!!

Re: Adjustable bucket seat tracks ??

We have access to a lathe and billet stock, so they will be done right. Even if we just make two sets I'm considering this for both my trucks. i.e. Billet adjustment handle, etc.

They are bench sliders but the brackets have been tweaked a bit.

Re: Adjustable bucket seat tracks ??

I'd want a set with a stock handle.

Re: Adjustable bucket seat tracks ??

Dad's working on the prototype now, we could do a shortened stock handle or billet painted black, etc. Just thinking right now and trying to get them worked out to be a true bolt on changeover / kit rather than brackets on top of brackets, and something unsafe. (Understanding they would be holding the seat to the floor)

Re: Adjustable bucket seat tracks ??

Add me to your list, I want to see what you come up with. Not excited about the billet handle, I would prefer a stock look like 1972RedNeck. I am assuming you are making both sides so the seats sit at the same height.

2 trucks would mean 2 sets possibly for me.

Thanks,

Re: Adjustable bucket seat tracks ??

I'd be interested in a set too, but I do have a pretty nice "new" bench seat that I'd have to pull back out..
