Hidden Audio Systems

I have a stereo problem... My preference is a factory looking interior with clean, uncluttered lines and features. Unfortunately, that means my 78 C10's AM radio with a single dashboard speaker is my audio setup, which isn't condusive to playing the ipod.

Does anybody have a hidden setup with pictures/details? I imagine one would fit under the seat, but the speaker placement becomes an issue.

Thanks.

Re: Hidden Audio Systems

I dont have a pic, but I have seen classic cars and trucks that have the head unit built into a plate in the glovebox. Obviously you lose the use of the glovebox, but it is pretty slick. I suppose you could do that and then run a cable for the docking port over closer to the steering column with a mount for your ipod or phone.

Re: Hidden Audio Systems

Thanks Frank!

I finally got everything buttoned up on the interior...the "new" radio sounds incredible, and so do the speakers in the cab corner brackets. I am very pleased with how it all sounds, and you would never know the radio is anything other than the old push button stocker.

S&M Electrrotech in Blaine MN did the conversion...that is their specialty and I recommend them!
