67-72 Trailers??

I know landon4421 has a utility trailer made from a 67-72 long fleetside, but does anyone else have 1? I just bought a 70 rolling chassis that I want to turn into a trailer to haul parts and camping supplies in.

hmm Not sure about that , but i have a 72 terry travel trailer 25" i still use and is very clean,

I've done it before. After the cab is off just cut the frame where it is still straight as far forward as you can get. Then cut two slices per side one on the upper frame flange and one on the lower just in front of the box. Take measurements. Bend the frame flanges up/down for and aft of the slices so that they will not interfere with each other and then you can then bend the frame rails by hand inward till they meet at a point. Check your measurements here as well to make sure it is centered. I used some square tubing welded on at that point to fasten a coupler to but one of those A- frame couplers might just bolt right on. Next weld up the tabs where he frame flanges overlap eachother. I cut the factory wiring harnes and hooked up a plug and presto you have a trailer in a couple of hours. Don't worry guys I used the rattiest frame and most trashed box I had. It saved em from the scrap yard and now my buddy has a trailer. I even get to borrow it when I need it.

71 bed, i bought it this way but the whole bed floor was gone (literly) only thing holding the sides on is the crossmembers and a few stray peices of metal

lol i was gonna do the same thing foiund its easier to use the rectangle tubing than to try to use an A frame for making the hitch part

i have a longbox trailer with a very nice ,original paint bed on it. even the floor is near perfect. i know you guys in the rustbelt are calling me all sorts of names right now,lol. but hey, i only paid 50 bucks for the bed and needed somewhere to use it so i made a 3/4 ton leafspring trailer out of it. i used an old eaton rearend, pulled out the third member, sawed of the axle shafts, packed the bearings with grease. i also welded a flat plate over the hole where the third member was and rotated the housing for added ground clearance, welded on new spring pads and shock mounts and been using it for several years.
my dad also has one but the bed on his is beat pretty bad-- his was free, all we had to do was weld on a coupler and tow it home. it's also a 3/4 ton leaf spring.

I haven't done it yet, but the plan is in the works! I have two I want to do, one is a longbed fleet with steel floor that I have a camper shell for. The other is a long step that has bolt on tool boxes that replaced the step fenders. Too cool. Most likely, I'll buy trailer springs and make a frame from square tube. The step one I'll use as a work trailer and paint bronze like my truck. The fleet will be a camping/off-road trailer with 35" tires like the Jimmy and using a pintle hitch for max articulation. I'll mount trailer jacks on all 4 corners so it can be leveled and stabilized.
