Frame swap
I have a 1969 c10 2wd that i would like to convert into a 4x4.
Can i use a 71 k5 blazer frame? He'll throw in the tcase and it has everything else i need. What would yall say a reasonable price would be for the frame or are their other options that i could use? Posted via Mobile Device |

A blazer frame is shorter (in length) than a SWB truck frame so... no- ish. IDK if the crossmembers will bolt into your frame. Maybe?, no experience there sorry.

I haveseej truck beds shortened to fit on blazer chassis. Not my cup of tea, but I have seen it.

Could i extend the frame?
Is their any other options, their are some k10 projects for sale but their really pricey i would rather do the swap if i could. Could i take the axles, steering and everything else i need off of the blazer frame and put it on the old c10 frame?   Posted via Mobile Device |

Pull your bed off and then start comparing the frames with your own eyeballs. Take measurements. Compare them. Then, you'll know what you have to do.

I have done one and it is a bit of a pain , but as already stated measure and double check. Mine was a 1969 chevy truck and used a 1969 blazer as a donor.

Mine is a longbed 2wd.... I was gonna cut the bed to make it a shortbed... Im willing to buy a 4x4 long or short frame that i could use... If i got a long frame then ill cut it down but it has to be 4x4

I removed all the brackets and put everything on the shortbed frame. Unfortunately I do not have any pictures ,this was done in 1986.The worst part was measuring all the front end to keep it square so it didn't dog track .

I started with a C10 Short bed frame (Guy told me it was a blazer frame) I put a 72 Dana 44 front under it and a 73 one ton 14 bolt under the back. Found a B&M T400/208 in a salvage yard and went from there. I set the frame on jack stands and leveled it and squared it with the wall on the side of my driveway.

I love the way it looks but other "trazers" look like they have much shorter beds it looks like yours is just a shortbed? I dont know Posted via Mobile Device |

Yea i really like your truck... Hopefully i can find something quick.... Ill either get the blazer frame and put all the 4x4 stuff on my c10 frame or find a good 4x4 frame on craigslist...
