Question Another Oil Pressure Question

Hello Chevyland:
(1979 C20, 350 GM Mr. Goodwrench Motor 65k miles, running 10w40)
Reader's Digest version:

**Thought oil pressure sensor was bad (bouncing needle) Repalced OPS, didn't fix it.

**Switched to mechanical gauge, and no more bouncing, however (warmed up) @ Idle 11psi, and cruising @ 45mph only 32psi, nothing higher even though RPM's go up to 2500....

When i put it in N, and bring up RPM's highest goes is 40 psi, nothgin more.

Is this normal?

PLease advise.

Thanks for all your input!
