New owner of '82 scottsdale 6.2 LB

Hi everyone.

I like to start out first by saying I have never owned a chevy before. My uncle gave me one of his "solid as a rock" chevys. My 3 yr old son loves it more than I do, I think. He tells people its HIS monster truck.

Yes like a handed down truck there are parts missing. Which I plan to start a new thread in the proper section of the forum boards about.

Little more info on it.

Like stated in the title, its a '82 Chevy scottsdale k20 6.2l LB he recently(1-2 yrs ago) had hte motor rebuilt by Thompson diesel rebuilders in Wichita, Ks.

I have some plans for it. I would like to level the height out with the back, giving it a little lift with some small over sized tires and wheels. Also do some 30 year maintenance to it. Some day down the road get it repainted some bright color to give it more attention.

Thanks for allowing me to be here to help me down the road with my projects!

I'm located in KC area(Olathe, Ks) My name is James D.

Did they rebuild the original 6.2 engine? As you know, only 82 6.2's were painted red and the blocks had a higher nickle chromium content in them which made them stronger and more resistant to bottom end cracking.
