well its been a long time!

so i haven't posted in a long time but things are looking up for me again and i'm in the market for another 67-72 pickup....there are a few around my area and some that are alittle ways away, but i would like the boards opinion on the price of this one particular truck i'm interested in. it's a 69 swb fleetside with a 383 stroker,th350,and weld wheels with MT in the back.the body and paint look really good except the tailgate needs to be painted. He's asking 10k or BO......how much should i pay for this truck?

That looks like a nice 69 fleet! Have you checked how solid is is underneath? I am always extra cautious with trucks/ cars that have been painted cause you never k ownwhat the pretty paint is hiding. Has the body been offend frame? It looks like a $7-8k truck IMO depending on the interior.

Re: well its been a long time!

There are a few things that would bug me, but may not bug you. The no name grille and tailgate are a couple. It looks like it's been lowered a bunch so the front tires are pushed way back in the wheel wells. A drop member would sure make that look a lot better.
The price probably isn't way off if that is the type of truck you are looking for. I think my price would be inline with WIDESIDE72 if that is the type of truck I was looking for.
If it's not the tyupe of truck you are looking for I would keep looking.

I haven't actually seen it in person, but I would definitely check out all the usual places for rust fixes and bodywork. I'm not to thrilled about the wheel/tire combo but figured I could sell those and put the money towards new billets. He hasn't written back to me yet so we'll see.

If you are thinking new wheels and tires ask if the rearend has been narrowed. The side picture makes me think no, the rear picture makes me think yes.

I think the front tires are in a lot and back some, the paint needs a cut and buff you should be able to see things surrounding the truck in the pic , rear axle looks like it may have been chopped, pull up the carpet or get low like a snake and crawl all around underneath it looking up. Good luck!!!
