Noob starting my build

Well I made it thru the first 100 pages. I found this today at our semi dealership. Not sure of anything about it yet as far as year. I know its a 55-57 but ill dig it out tomorrow and tinker with it

I plan to have it finished by Christmas. Plans are to rip it apart and blast the frame and prep it for the air ride. Doing a M2 (still deciding which) with a 4 link in back. I have a fresh cummin turbo 4 cylinder 4BT with a chevy adapter to put in it. Ill do some sort of antique white paint with 22"s that im going to powder coat some sort of crinkle black or a satin black. Nothing fancy on the interior.

I have bagged s10s before but the notch i used came made for an s10. All you guys that have bagged these with notches, did you use just a universal notch or is there someone who sells a notch for these specific trucks

Never really wanted this truck until I seen this video

Wow! You are setting an ambitious schedule. Hope you pull it off. That video you posted is great! I watched it a half a dozen times. Cool truck that Taylor made............wait ............Taylor Made......oops, wrong sport. Anyway, thanks for posting that video. I think it's great. Good luck with your build. Hope you post lots of progress pics.

Re: Noob starting my build

I never even wanted the truck until I seen the video and to be honest never even looked at it more than a glance. Now I want to drag it out and start today. Its been sitting down over a hill at our dealership for about 25 years.

I guess I cant give my self all the credit. Ill have my pops mechanics work on it when i'm not.

57 year difference there

Cool project your got going. Truck looks like a good start.

Why not just make your own notch. Not hard and you can choose your own clearances and ride height.

Cant wait to see it unfold, its going to be a fast build.

Re: Noob starting my build

I have been considering making a notch for some time, I recently learned to weld and I lay down some pretty good looking welds but as far as good penetration who knows. Usually I tack it and have a mechanic burn it in. But I may do my own welding on this one since I plan on keeping it

Re: Noob starting my build

welcome to the forum
that's a rather aggressive schedule for a complete tear down
seeing as most of us made careers out of our projects

good looking truck, post more pics when you drag it out of the weeds
the truck in the video had a home made notch
