ET street radials

Anyone running these on their street/strip? Ive tried most of Mickey Thompsons tires (ET street bias ply, ET drag, Sportsman Pro's) And these things hook like ET drags and ride like the best street tires Ive had. But... Im kinda worried about what's gonna happen at the track. Ive got them at about 23-25 psi on the street and I can roll into the throttle at about 5-10mph with my 32-3500 converter and it'll dead hook. Is that gonna be too much pressure at the track? im running 325/50/15 (28x13.50 15) on a 15x10. Anybody running these? Friend of mine has 275/60/15 on his Chevelle with a similar combo and he can barely get traction with a tighter converter.

I have 315/60/15 ET DR's on a 12" wheel. 17lbs has been fine for me. Converter is too tight for motor but have been the numbers in mynsig on them. That is dead hooked.

On my cruiser 69 I have some hoosier 275/60-15 drag radials and on motor it dead hooks. This truck has really mild 350 with a small shot of gas (175) and it runs 7.5's all day long with 1.63 60'. When I say mild I mean stock short block, stock heads, hyd. flat tappet cam and performer intake.

You run 7.50 on the hose ? Do you spray out of the hole or further down track?

Hoping I can get down some more on motor before I first spray it. My fastest pass with this combo i was having ignition breakup issues. I have since fixed it so hopefully i can run a little bit faster. Now im tearing up ujoints and carrier bearings and have to address that before i can run again. Motor puts down 525@5300 and 560tq@4500 to the flywheel. Never weighed the truck but its a longed with a plastic cell, 1 seat and no rear bumper

My buddy runs a set of 275's on his s10 (stock leaf homemade traction bars) air will depend on several factors (weight, rim width, etc.) we run 20 in ours. That's where we get the best footprint. Thing about a radial is it's better to be a few psi over than under. At 15psi we cup the center of the tire pretty bad. The biggest thing we had to learn was the burnout. We were just going up and cleaning them off (like a regular street radial so they don't get gressey) The MT's like heat. Almost the same burnout as when we're slicked up.

I was at 17-18 in my 275's . Mine were light burnout after the first pretty good one to take the dead off and get the "juice flowing"

My 68 on all stock suspension was lifting the left front tire and pulling 1.6 60's on 275/60's. Loved the tires, but they wore out pretty quick. Mine seemed to like 17 psi also

Well guys.... I appreciate the advice. I ran them between 17-18 psi and got 4 good passes in at the eighth mile. Two runs i spun hard and the other 2 were hooked. The best run was from a hard heavy burnout shifting 1-2. 1.83 60ft

Best pass of the night. Screwed up a ujoint on that pass and alternate belt worked it way loose. Motor was dynoed with a bigger carb (850) and i ran my friends 750 that night. Haven't had time to fix it and make it back. An 80s model shortbed on slicks with nitrous called me out and i ended up beating him by a fender(fastest pass of the night)

fwiw I've got some MT 325's on my 66 and have used them as a street tire 90% of the time to great success. Like any big-sidewall tire they have some "float", but at higher psi they are plenty manageable, and ride very good from a confort and noise perspective.

I've got about 8500miles of street driving on them and never thought that would be an option.

A buddy has a Nova wagon with stock wheel wells and wheel tubs. he really cant fit much tire under it but managed to squeeze a 235/60/15. Tis is a full interior Nova with a mild steel cage. Last pass the car weighed about 3200-3300 but the 418 motor that was in it died a death just past the 1/8. It 60'd 1.5's on motor going 10.7x and went 1.44 on a 150hit out of the hole just before the block broke and the crank fell out of it.

1.44 on a 235 is rather impressive in my book. His new combo should really make that little 235 work hard. Tis time it has a 408 with a blower and spray.

I run a 279 45 17 new II version on my truck mid 1.6 sixty foot ( still tuning the new set up) Start the burn out in 2nd gear. As you shifting from 1-2 is extremely hard on the sprag. I run 2nd gear to 4750 and count to 4 drop the line lock and roll off the throttle. THEY HOOK. I leave 3750 on the brake and first gun is 100 dead off the brake. No issues at at 19PSI. But they prep the hell out of this track. I have seen more than one person had a shoe pulled off that was not tied well. Flip flops on people working / walking on the staging lanes is funny as well.

Any one that runs Star dragway in Denton knows what I am talking about.

I have done alot of work to the truck since this. Currently running 315/60/15 on a 12" wheel. 4.10 gear. Best 60 foot for last year was 1.69 and hoping to improve that. Just went through the motor again and put a new converter in it. New qa1 double adjustable coilovers and adding an antirollbar. Truck weighs 4000 lbs with driver.

WOW I hope you get the 60 foot time handled. I have a 3.73 gear 295/45/17 MT II stock rear shocks that are 1 inch shorter and 4 inch drop CCP springs. Running 1.63 on avg. leaving at 3550 off the brake . I have a few that I have left at 4000 but spun so I never had time to run down tire pressure or try anything. Had too many other things to tune.

One of the guys I go to the track with has a C6 vette ... 1.35 60 foot times. stock rear end auto conversion and a cam in the ls7 HA HA that think is up and gone.

I ran 275/50-15s on the back of my Mustang for about 7 years as my only tire and loved them. Made several trips 2-3 hours away. They handled the rain OK. Much better street manors than my previous ET Streets.

When I first got them I took the car to a prepped track and had to teach myself to let go of the shifter as when it would launch I would pull it out of gear. It also seemed the older they got the more of a burnout I would have to do.

I know I've been trying to get the 60 foot down. I know it's in the suspension. Hopefully my winter mod's this year will do it. I have had the front shocks on 90/10 for. While and thinking about slowing them down some after I see how it works with the antirollbar and new double adjustable rear shocks.

I have done the pull into second on the launch before LOL I have a video of that somewhere. Quickly shifted back into first and finished the pass.
