my heritage
Hi,everyone.Im from Saguenay,Quebec,Canada. Two years ago,my godfather past away and decide to give me is 1972 GMC step side that he buy new in 72.He was still using it for fishing and driving around in town. For now,it was to hard for my aunt to let it go,but last week i receive a phone call. The only thing is the truck was at 12 hrs drive from me(500km of dirt road)at Labrador city newfoundland. So i call the train compagny and put the truck on the train to Sept-iles wich is 650km from home. From there i rent a trailer and go get it.What a trip it was.Now the truck found is new home!!!The body is in pretty bad shape but the frame looks good.I know i have a lot of work to do on it but i think im ready.I know thats gonna take time and lot of help, but i wanna do it in Jean-Marie's memory,my oncle and godfather.

Re: my heritage
Everything on the truck work, turn signal,engine(L6 250) need new gasket kit, compression is good but leaks like crazy from everywhere.I would love to keep the truck original as possible, except for a solid drop(air ride not legal here).Need new windshield, front fender have a lot of history i would say lol.My wife think im crazy but....its probably normal hehehe.Aniway im looking forward to do this project.Right now my son hes only 10 month old and i have another one on the road for march. So i know im gonna be very busy with the family and thats why its gonna be a very long build.

Re: my heritage
Oh, sorry. 1 kilometer its 1.61 miles. So i drove 400 miles in mountain and tight turn to get it. But its nothing due to the price of it ( free ). I have 4 barels and a few boxes full of part to sort out. 3 carburators, new tail gate, every single light, front grill, few emblems ect. Can't wait to get it started!!!

With that kinda help you got no problems.Every minute you spend with him working on the truck will be a treasured memory.

Re: my heritage
ZUBZ: Yes everything here is metric, like kilometer, centimeter ect.weight to are metric like gram, kilogram. But my truck is in miles (63 000) In 1970,canada turn to metrication but they change speed limit sign just in 1977.Thats why my truck is in miles.

Re: my heritage
I would have thought that Canada being so close to US you would follow them. We also use kilometer, centimeter etc.....
