steering Column

Hello I just recently purchased a 1964 k10 pick up as my first car and have started working out all the bugs with it. Currently I am stumped with the steering column. It has an after market grant steering wheel but the adapter to the steering wheel does not fit the column and over hangs by about half an inch and it rubs against the column when turning. I took everything off and all that was behind the grant wheel set up was the turn signal in is a 4 on the floor so there isnt any linkage inside but there is no linkage for the horn and the turn signals will lock in to place but do not blink unless you hold them up past where they lock. does any one have i diagram of what the steering column should look like or have any advise??
