shortbed 4x4 frame years?
i am building a 64 shortbed 4x4 for the 3rd time this time i am doing it the way i should have at first but i started out with 2 wheel drive trucks and put on a newer frame but i want to go back to the 60-66 shortbed frame was told one up to 72 was the same is this true? no experience with 67-72 trucks only73-87 on that part. I got a nearly rust free cab except for the floor the ones i have had in the past the windshield lip was rusted gone but i found a 64 cab i had given a nephew of mine and its perfect so i am gettin it back but i need a original 4x4 shortbed frame and i am having a hard time finding one. I am ready to get it going gonna blast the frame paint it then on to the body and making room for a 500 hp 502 gonna be a fun truck. Ok i need to stop rambling but where is a good place to find a frame in kansas ?? hard to find any old trucks like these around my parts

Re: shortbed 4x4 frame years?
The '67-'72 frames are basically the same as the '63-'66 frames. The main differences are the front frame horns, for the different bumper. The rear cab mount bracket sits differently. If I remember correctly they are a little higher?
It is much easier to put a '60-'66 body on a '67-'72 frame than it is on a '73-'87 frame. Also it is not that hard to shorten a long wheelbase frame. Especially since you will have the body off.

Re: shortbed 4x4 frame years?
I know i could shorten one but i just want to find one that i dont have to shorten and would prefer 60-66 i want to fit perfect i am gonna lift it about 6" and run 35" boggers for a nice mean look when done. the one i have built now is on a newer frame 87 that was cut to fit the body and it looks ok but i want it to be on the original frame not sure why i am so stuck on that but i want a very nice truck when i am done i figure i will spend $30,000 by the time i am done or more so i am gonna be picky this time
