Just found a GMC longbox 1968 for sale on the net at 1hrs drive from home. The guys told me he had a L6 in it but not sure wich one,the frame was straight and everything work on it.Im in the process of rebulding my 72 stepside.Need to change the floor, rocker ect ect ect on it so just wondering if the cabine, front fenders, pretty much everything i will need from the 68 fits on my 72.I offer 600$ for it and he didn't say no.There is some crapy pics of the 68. Re: GMC 68 fits 72???
Some parts are different, some are the same. If you switch out the entire front clip, everything will fit fine. But it looks like a '67 right passenger fender on the '68 if Im seeing it right. Cab and fenders will all be the same, hood and grill are different.

Re: GMC 68 fits 72???
Wow you got the eye lol.OK thanks,to bad i already had 2 spare grill. My hood is like new to....hummmm.So if i understand my hood won't fit with those fenders. This one seems to have a big dent in it.On my 72 the 2 front fender are very damage with big rust hole on them. The plant was to swap just the cab, fender, bumper. But i may Take this entire front end and keep just my frame and my lovely stepside boxes.

Re: GMC 68 fits 72???
Its just that the '67 fender has no side marker and looks a little different. Purists will notice that its the wrong hood and grill for '67 fenders, but that has been done before and looked great. As long as your '72 is a GMC, they will fit, GMC fenders are the same throughout...

Re: GMC 68 fits 72???
Ok ok,aniway i don't like the side marker. If my hood fit im the happiest man on earth lol. With that cab i will safe hours and hours of body patching. Just my step side box will need major work. Just hope now its the same engine cause mine leaks from everywhere.
