Re: Anybody got these wheels yet??

called about them the other day, when ordering wheels it takes 4 to 6 weeks, but here's the kicker the center caps won't be avalible till after the first of the year, so i'm just gonna wait. they are not cheap the ones i'm looking at are about $1600

Re: Anybody got these wheels yet??

I like the wheels, But I think the center caps are too fancy looking. I think the factory ones would look better.

Re: Anybody got these wheels yet??

after looking at the money end of it, i think i will stick with my chrome, billet wheels are a pain when they get dirty, plus i've got stuff that keeps the rust at bay on chrome rims

Re: Anybody got these wheels yet??

I bought Wheel Vintiques Vette-style rallye wheels in 15x8 and 15x10 for my '69. Summit Racing has 'em and in several sizes. I know American Racing may have some cache to the name, but my WV wheels are just right for me. I had 'em powder-coated after they arrived.

I also got a set of 16x7's for my '96. I painted these myself. I think I want some 16-inch trim rings from an '88-98 4wd wheel. I'm thinking they'll look a bit more finished than the beauty rings that I used on the '96.

Re: Anybody got these wheels yet??

Rallye style wheels (or any other retro-style wheel) look best in the diameters they originally came in. Maybe 16",but that's the limit.Newfangled trendy wheels are best for newfangled trendy diameters,IMO. Old school styled wheels just "lose it" when jumping up in size,it defeats the purpose of retro styling. These rallye styled wheels are great looking when deep and in a reasonable diameter. On that '62? No thank you

Ya I tried to order the 20x15 polished in that wheel and was told the barrels are ready but they can't get anybody to build the centers yet.

They have been waiting to start production on these for a while, and I still have not gotten any sort of firm date of availability.
