Intro | 1986 GMC Sierra Classic | New Project
Hello All,
I just recently joined and wanted to first introduce myself. I'm newly retired Navy and just came back home to GA. My father gave me his 1986 GMC Sierra Classic SWB w/a new crate 350 that sat for almost 3yrs (he bought a 95 Dodge Ram lol). It needs some minor work done to the body to include paint but all in all it's a nice daily driver. Of course, sitting for 3 years there have been a few things I've had to work on and that's what led me here. The goal is to lower it, paint it Satin Black (like my 70 Monte Carlo) and not replace the side molding or rail. It's a coincidence that my 3 vehicles match in color so I'm sticking w/that theme. Looking forward to picking brains here. I have been trying to get this truck from my Dad for over 10yrs but he wouldn't budge and the only thing he did to it was have it reupholstered (95% of it anyway). |

Congratulations and welcome. If your Dad is anything like mine, he held onto that truck until he knew you would appreciate it. Great gift, and it sounds like you've got a good vision of the finished version. Good luck.
