Sliding rear glass vs fixed

What's everybody's preference? I much prefer the sliding rear glass, it makes the interrior feel bigger as well a keeping things cooler with the rear open.

IMHO a sliding rear window is a must have. I love having the extra ventilation but alot of times i wind up using my trucks for hauling large lengths of pipe wood moulding etc and it helps to have the extra room to slide it in the cab some so you dont have several feet hanging out the back of the bed particularly if you have a shortbed like i do on my ford

I think sliding glass is best but i have a fixed window cause it came with my truck

i drove trucks with sliders for a while, never once opened them. i have buddies with sliders that tell me to get one, i have never seen them use them. im going to keep the one peice glass in mine, looks better too. i also have had hair between my shoulders adn elbows for about as long as i have beeen driving so anything more then a open floor vent and vent window gets really annoying

I like the slider , but I wish they would make one with a screen. Leaves in the bed end up inside, plus insects love you at a stoplight.

I once locked my keys in my 96' Nissan PU, my buddy who is 6"4" was able to reach the door lock through the slider & open it.

The bad part was that he is 270lb, and so the window frame was tweeked a bit, still works though....

My 85 has a one piece glass and my 86 has sliding glass. I think the one piece looks better if you tint it. I ever been one to open the back glass

I think the one piece looks better but I like my slider and wouldnt change it

Mine comes in very handy when I lock my keys inside. If I had anything of value in my truck, I wouldn't be so big on them.

I must be in the minority, but I don't care for the sliding windows. I much prefer a solid back glass.

I prefer solid to sliders. Looks better imo, dust/dirt doesn't get kicked in by dumped exhaust as much and sliders are way too easy to get into.

I like the slider because I can roll the window down, open vent wing and slider and the wind blows thru nicely with no buffetting. I also like to open the slider a little with the a/c on and it pulls it thru actually cooling truck off quicker.

I love my slider helps keep me cool during summer since my truck doesn't have A/C it really helps on those 90+ degree days. If were just going off of looks than i would say the solid rear window looks better.

I prefer the solid back window. I have always felt the sliders are the weak point for breaking into a vehicle. I have had 2 tool boxes stolen and both times the thief got a through the sliding window.

It's so easy to pop the locks on the doors that i don't even worry about some one getting in through the slider.

I've owned and driven both, and my preference depends what I'm using the truck for.

When its a beater work truck I like the slider - those trucks don't have working A/C so it does keep the truck much cooler to have the slider passing the air through. Also, I enjoy the ability to toss my trash and cans from fast food etc out the window into the bed as previously mentioned. Its less secure and I've broken into my own truck sever times through the slider, BUT, on those kind of trucks I dont always lock the door anyways, not to mention on of the trucks the door couldn't lock on the passanger side to begin with...

When its my daily driver I like the solid window. More secure and to be honest, I wouldn't use the window down/slider anyways since it gets you somewhat messed up on the way to work. Given that I have working A/C in a truck relied on for transportation as a necessity down here in Georgia, the extra cooling bonus is a moot point.

Prefer the slider in mine. I like the ventilation it provides on nice days. If I have door windows down, I'll have that slider open too, because without the slider open the air blowing through the truck buffs around. If it's too hot I just turn on the AC.

My son especially likes it since he sits in the middle, he likes the air blowing on the back of his head.

Never worried about theft. Truck is garaged, rarely used, and never leaves my site anyway.

Slider, single cab without AC in Las Vegas, 110 summers, open the window and the slider and man I don't care about AC it feels nice with good ventilation! Anyone have a lock on their rear slider? I don't

I like my solid glass. I've never cared for sliders. I've had one in my '87 and didn't use it alot. Really the only time I cared to use it was when the driverside power window broke. Then it was nice. But I just don't care for the looks.

Sliders look terrible in my opinion. One piece glass is so much cleaner. I have NEVER ONCE opened the slider window on any truck I have ever owned. And yes its a weak point for break ins.
