pickup side steps, opinions welcome

Pickup side steps: Powdercoat them black, polish them or leave as is?

When I first got my truck I did not like them and wanted them gone, but since they were a factory option I decided to keep them. Just wanting some opinions....I'm leaning toward powdercoat.

My first choice would be remove it and fill the hole. Second option, paint it to match the truck.

Sorry, im not a fan of them

Personally I'd go the powdercoat way. I'd keep it since it is a factory option but I would try keep it from standing out. As it is now, it draws attention to itself. I'd powdercoat it the same color as the truck so that while it is still there, it doesnt shout "here I am".

They are not the easiest parts to find and are quite desireable by alot of people. As most things, they are either loved or hated. Personally, Id polish them, but I like the look of them.

I'd go with polished if you plan on running many other polished or chrome trim. Otherwise powdercoat.

If you plan on re painting the truck, you might consider going body color on them, otherwise IMO the polished would be a better look as a "trim" piece.

Depending on the trim level of your truck, I would probably polish them. But, doing a brushed finish on them might look nice as well.

My vote is to just Own it. Make them stand out.
Like you I used to hate them but now I see them as a very rare part of history and they do draw the eye when they're polished. I'd polish them up or chrome them and use them as part of my eye-catching trim.

I like them and would polish them. If I had them I would have put them on my truck even though they are pretty much useless on a lowered truck they are cool looking.

Whatever you decide, dont toss them. They are getting hard to find.
