Let's see your aftermarket or non stock steering wheel!!

I am a bit undecided about which way to go with buying a new steering wheel. I really wanted a comfort grip style wheel, but before I buy one I want to see some more options. So what are you guys running in your truck?

Re: Let's see your aftermarket or non stock steering wheel!!

When I did mine, I wanted to get away from the school bus size wheel and yet be inexpensive. I went with a mid 70's style Camaro LT wheel. Perfect size and cushy grip. There are way better looking wheels out there but man can they get spendy.

I bought a Corvette wheel a long time ago from Eckler's. leather wraped. I put the cheap cover over it because I had, had surgery on both hands and it was a nice feel not having my fingers all wrapped around the wheel. My grip ant all it use to be now either.

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Let's see your aftermarket or non stock steering wheel!!

I bought a Grant/14 in. dia. mahogany wood finger grip touring GT steering wheel with 4 silver anodized aluminum spokes. I like the look and feeling of it. I don't have a picture of it installed though. I got it from Auto Zone. Though, I believe it was on sale in the store when I bought it. Sure didn't pay what they are asking online.

Re: Let's see your aftermarket or non stock steering wheel!!

I bought this one from Impy's hot rod parts for my CST. It was pricey but worth it since it looks good and is FULLY leather wrapped. Most comfortable wheel I've ever had. The picture was taken when the wheel was turned but you get the idea...on my other trucks, I use a Chevy van wheel.....

Not quite....Around $250.00 for the wheel and about $70.00 for the hub setup. It is really well made and like I said, well worth the money to me since it is all leather wrapped. There are lots of cool billet wheels but most seem to be half wrapped and your hands still get hot or cold from the exposed metal....

Here is a link to their stuff:

Here's mine. It's a Mooneyes 13.5. I wanted it to represent the late 60's. Not to mention it's easier when you have a larger gerth.

The top picture is the one the I'm looking for, but have only been able to find half-wrapped.

Re: Let's see your aftermarket or non stock steering wheel!!

Just posted this in another wheel thread:

"67-72 Sport Steering Wheel" -- from Brother's Trucks -- bought it on sale, I think it was $219 then for the whole kit. To my amazement the horn even worked after I put it all back together.

I like it -- feels and looks right in the truck. This looks like the same setup someone mentioned from muscle-factory.com, looks quite a bit cheaper there if it is...

Re: Let's see your aftermarket or non stock steering wheel!!

Some one out in California wanted to know where I bought this wheel! Sorry I lost your name so I cant respond to you. Maybe you will see this. I bought this wheel from Classic Industries a few years ago. It has a nice thick grip and did not cost much. I hope you get this-I pressed the wrong button and lost your name. Good luck with your wheel search! Here is the wheel again.

Re: Let's see your aftermarket or non stock steering wheel!!

Wife bought me mine for Christmas 3 or 4 years ago. She called Summitt Racing to order it and the man started asking her questions about the truck so she had him call my bud so he could send the right one. I thought that was going above and beyond for service. Its aLeCarra double spoke and I realy like it and the leather and feel on these is top notch.
