Catylatic converter heat sheild.
Under the truck last night trying to pull my stock cat crossmember, and I noticed that there is a cat converter heat shield that bolted to the middle and I think was held in place between the frame and the cab, but I could be wrong on that. Is there an easy way to remove it? I know it was bolted to the CM but I couldn't figure out how it was mounted to the cab orframe. I'd like to remove it to clean up under there since I don't have a cat but I gotta figure out how to get it off though

Re: Catylatic converter heat sheild.
I think it's attached with two or three self tapper bolts, driven from the top side of the frame rail.
If you take a flat wrench and slip it between the cab and frame you might be able to get them loose and get the shield out of there. K
