Any collectability in the C60's?
I ran across a 1960 C60 Viking and was wondering if there was a market anywhere for parts off of that size truck?
I want the hood off of it (actually I think it's a 61 hood" ) I am correct in that this hood will fit a 64 C10 ???? Maybe just scrap the rest of it?

Re: Any collectability in the C60's?
lots of good parts, most everything off the cab will fit/interchange with a c10.
yes the hood will fit as long as it is not a lcf. I need those hooks for my c 60! grill is worth saving, guys modify those for thier c/10's grille and hood show that to be a 61.

Re: Any collectability in the C60's?
14" shorter to be exact.
I just got one of these last week and it's a sweet hood but will need sectioned to work on my C10. The A-PILLAR of the LCF cab was shorter and the front corners of the doors were "C'd" to fit against the front fenders. The tunnel cover was different. "Anything is possible" with time money and effort but it's no direct swap for sure. Cool pics though... |

That truck looks way too nice to take apart. Try selling it as a whole and buy a Hood with the profits.

Re: Any collectability in the C60's?
Well I considered doing that but this particular truck is 700 miles away from me and the guy that owns it does not think the tires would make the drive and he says "you have to pump the brakes" "a lot"
Can't afford to ship the darn thing since it is supposed to weigh about 7900 pounds and for some reason he wont sell me just the hood....

But I just realized something else... You would be willing to drive 1400 miles round trip just to get the hood? You must want one pretty bad. You actually live in the best state there is for sheet metal. We all dream about AZ sheet metal. Have you tried to find one there?

Have looked at several of them and my brother ended up buying a GMC hood for me, not what I wanted and it's a little rough. So yes I would drive 1400 miles but not just for the hood. The deal would have to pay for itself, that's why the question was posted....is there any collectability here?

Re: Any collectability in the C60's?
I'll buy the emblems if you get it...
Don't scrap any of it! i've had tons of calls about poeple chasing the front sheet metal. So there is a market for it.

Re: Any collectability in the C60's?
Hey, now that is cool! I have nearly zero use for a truck that size, but it's still tempting. A lot of workpower for so little money. No way I'd part it. Somebody please grab it!
