Correct Valve Cover Decal - SUBURBAN

I'm doing research to have a "correct" valve cover decal made for my 70 C-10 pickup's original 350 4 BBL engine. I started threads in the pickup and Blazer/Jimmy sections and got quite a bit of new information. I thought I'd ask over in the Suburban area to see if anyone here can ad anything. So far, I believe the "8 350" decal seen in the first picture below, from the 70 C-10 with 80 miles that was for sale a couple of years ago, is the correct one for my engine. It did NOT have a decal on the driver's side. The second picture below, is said to be a 72 GMC from an article in a service bulletin when it was new. The third picture below, shows an original 71 307's decal that I personally took pictures of a few weeks ago. It did NOT have any remains of a decal on the driver's side.

My main questions are:

1) Does anyone have a Suburban with any portion of it's original valve cover decal still intact ? ( 69 through 72 and ANY cubic inch ) I'd like to see a picture of it, even if it doesn't look like the one I've posted. I realize that Suburban decals could have been different from the decals on pickups.

2) Does anyone remember seeing one of these in the past . . . and did they only come on the passenger side valve cover ?

. . . .

Re: Correct Valve Cover Decal - SUBURBAN

Mine had the "8 350" sticker on the pass side valve cover. That is till I washed it off. Its a 1969 C10 Sucburban. Still has the "can type" oil filter. I will be putting it back when I get it repainted. The stiker was in bad shape but from what I could tell it was sliver and black. Don't know if this helps.

That helps a lot . . . just to know there is another one WITHOUT anything on the driver's side is great !!! I'm getting more and more convinced that these "8 350" stickers were only on the passenger valve cover, all the other "8 350" stickers I've seen or heard about were ALL just on the passenger side.

I guess you would have told me if you had an old picture of your engine with the sticker, before you cleaned it. Do you have enough of the "residue" left to tell the dimensions of the sticker ? I've been told so far that it's around 8 by 1.5 inches. Can you see if that's about what you have ?

THANKS for your time !!!

8" sounds about right. There was not much of a edge on it when I started to clean it and after there was almost nothing. I can tell the stiker was only as wide as the flat spot in the center of the valve cover. And I have had 3 trucks with the "8 350" stikers and all of them were only on the pass side valve cover.

Re: Correct Valve Cover Decal - SUBURBAN

I will have to look at my old pics and see if I have any of them. I no longer have the trucks so I can't take new ones and I have always been bad at backing up my stuff. I will let you know.
