I finished up my Vintage Air Gen IV install.....40 degrees at the vents...I couldnt be more happy

I've been waiting to see how this turned out, any pics of the engine bay portion of the install? I'm ready to do the same thing as soon as I can. I'm jealous! Are you going to the Conroe swap meet? I' d like to see this in person.

Yes I'll be at Conroe....I'll be camping in the camper with a checker board awning..how ever I'm not bringing the C 10...come by for a visit

The section just behind the vent is so important to connect air hose to it

I really have no idea why this one part hasn't been reproduced by anyone over the years. It's probably one of the most desirable option pieces, and it doesn't seem as though it would be terribly difficult to re-manufacture.

im actully working with a company to remanufacture these. it can be done but is going to cost alot but i think it will be worth it since they are so hard to find in pefect shape. tell me what your opinions are about a reproduction part.

If your going to repro the box behind the dash also....the outside vent is usless without it.....or some othe way to attach the vent hoses...

I bought one at the local dismantler last year for $5. I actually got the whole original system (in cab and under hood) for less than $300.

Is the Vintage A/C controlled by the original sliders?

How well does the heat work on that unit?

It looks really good.

It looks really good.

Yes the original sliders are used with the Gen IV unit.....The left is def, center is A/C fan....the right is heat....I had a chance to use the heater last week and it worked excellent....one thing I really like is you are able to actually blend the functions

If your looking to re-chrome your vent balls, ChromeTechUSA did a good job on mine for about $50. That didn't include the center vent.

AC looks really, really good, nice install. IMO that I think your balls look fine, you are far to hard on yourself

looks really good!...some of the custom made panels below the dash with mounted vents look nice as well, but i like the fact that yours has more of a factory look...just not sure i'd want to drill holes into the dash for the vents...but it looks clean...nice work

I really like the way this turned out. I'm thinking of something similar for my pickup to get rid of the big clunky factory AC/Heater units. Do you have any photos of the engine compartment side of the firewall?
