Drive Shaft revisited
Hey guys, Well I got my project all running and ready to get the rear end rebuilt. We went to mock in the drive shaft and it appears to be a little too short to be comfortable. The splines were showing when it was at ride height length and that makes me uncomfortable. I need a drive shaft that is about 60inches from yoke to yoke when fully collapsed. Should any 70-72 4wd shaft work? What about 73-87?
thanks, Kevin

Re: Drive Shaft revisited
I would take it to a driveline shop and have them lengthen and balance it. You chance spending more time and money trying to make a used one work

Re: Drive Shaft revisited
The only problem with that is that I don't have a driveline shop anywhere near here that I have found. I wish there was one closer so I could do that and be done with it though.

Re: Drive Shaft revisited
Is yours a slip yoke or fixed yoke? I have some extra shafts. Maybe I could help you with one.cause I don't need any of them.

Re: Drive Shaft revisited
It is a fixed yoke with the slip joint on the one side of it. That's awesome, I appreciate it. Let me know if you have one the right length and how much you want.
Thanks, Kevin
