Dim Gear Selector Display
I've got a 2003 Silverado. The gear selector display in the dash went very dim. You can't see it during the day, but its bright enough to see at night. All other dash lights are good. How can I fix it?

Re: Dim Gear Selector Display
you have to replace the cluster only way to fix it www.dormanproducts.com sells a reman for about 300 dollars with a life time warranty

Re: Dim Gear Selector Display
Well that stinks. Anybody torn their cluster apart and figured out if its the OLED thats bad, resistors, or some other component? I'm not afraid to pull out my soldering iron.

Re: Dim Gear Selector Display
I don't know, but my gear selector has gone completely out and comes back on intermittently. The $300 is just too steep for me too.

Re: Dim Gear Selector Display
I took the one from my 2001 Silverado apart and the solder joints going from the main board to the display board were cracked and loose and also the three large resistors on the display board desoldered themselves. Could be the same problem you have.
