Will 72 bbc stands/clamshells work with earlier chassis?
I'm almost ready to drop the bbc into my 69 c10, but still need motor mounts/stands. I've seen a few pairs advertised as "72 only" and wanted to make sure they'll work on my 69 (ie: they were used in "72 only", but work on all 67-72's). Is there any differences in how they mount to the frame? Will I have to drill new holes? Long story short, will they work, or do I need something else? Just making sure before I drop the cash, as I wasn't able to find a clear answer in my searches.
Thanks! |

My understanding is they will backfit to earlier years. This link should help get the right mounts and stands in the right holes. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...20#post4374520

Thanks Tim! I actually punted and bought some of the performanceonline tubular mounts... was able to get them with a trans x member for about the same price as people seem to be asking for used 72+ mounts. Very much appreciated though!
