WTB: 69-72 original paint med olive driver's side fender

not too concerned with which emblem holes are on it, but need a med olive orig paint (and the more faded the better....) 69-72 driver's side fender. Have a 71 C20 in need of some lovin. For SA, it has the engine callout under the side marker light and only the single set of 2 holes (for a custom camper nameplate - but I think they were all equally spaced for the fender emblem)
But again, not too concerned with whatever holes are on it at this point, 69-72 med olive is the key.

Can pick up anywhere in SoCal, but undersand shipping might cost a few bucks from elsewhere - but appreciate anything you may have. Needs to be fairly rust free or defeats the purpose - I already have a crappy fender, but trying to replace with a remotely close orig paint med olive one so I don't end up needing to paint the whole truck.

I do realize this is a fairly specific request, but just wanted to ask - you never know what's out there! Would sure come in handy for me.

Thanks all!

thanks Scott, appreciate the bump. Looking to keep a survivor, well, surviving! (yes, this is a poorly disguised self-gratuitous bump).

I have been looking for a long time for the same thing, but in Ochre. Had a wheel fall of my 71 Jimmy and damage the original...... Good luck - if you hear of an Ochre one, let me know.

Hello Jocko,
I have a really nice shaped passenger side that is close to olive green, darker, but no driver. Good luck on this. I don't know of any parts trucks sitting around right now here in town.

Thanks Billy - yep, I had a bit of a fluff up with Speedway over some bent wheels they hosed me on - so haven't been back. Which means they probably have exactly what I need in the back of the yard!! Pretty sure Sierra doesn't have much in this year range. Thanks though!

Btw - did you happen to notice the white over ochre 72 Cheyenne 20 sitting across CLB from the post office at the oil change place?? Hmmm....
Also saw a white cheyenne super (I think - only got a glimpse) 71/72 near Ridgecrest Automotive on Iyk Road... They are coming out of the woodwork. I'll add my green meanie to the mix soon enough I hope.

Yes on the OCHRE 72, he used to work on the base delivering weapons, but got fired. I think he works at the oil change place. He lives somewhere in Ridgecrerst Hights with me.

Did you like that Cheyenne Super, that is mine till I put it on a shipping truck to Bill72 in Ft Sumner NM. He saught me out, I was not advertizing it for sale yet. Tom/Dan was tunning it up for me and replacing the starter and Vacuum advance. The starter went out on Dan while he was starting it to test drive it. They were very complementive and really amazed out the original shape it is in at 40 years old.
Yes, there seems to be alot of oldy's coing out to play these days.

I've got a green med olive driver fender but it has zero rust, and I need to find a rust free fender to buy first. I will sell you mine for what I have to pay for the replacement. Does that sound fair? Don't have any pictures, I can take some when I get home from work later

Well, that depends - I am very interested, but if you pay $2K for your new fender, I might not be so inclined... Fair is probably best based on what you think the green fender is worth, not based on the price of the fender you're buying new. Completely understand what you're doing though - helping pay for the new by getting rid of the old. So, pending some pics and the price, I am very interested! Thanks much for posting. (looked at the truck, but you're right, not any real good pics of the fender on there, so whenever you can post a few pics, that'd be great).

I have a longbed for sell on the parts forum, it's coming off that truck shown. The picture doesn't show a up close of the fender but the drivers fender is in the picture.

Here are the pictures it has a some surface rust on the back side, but it is solid. It has a alarm keylock in the fender too by the emblems. i just looked at it again it has a dent around the fender well but you have to have the right angle on the camera to notice it

Re: WTB: 69-72 original paint med olive driver's side fender

Thanks for posting the pics Scott, and you quote a very good price - but I think I'm going to pass on that one. I know it will be difficult for me to find, but looking for a good bit more original paint left on it that I can potentially buff out and make it blend in with the rest of the truck. Tall order, I know.. Thanks again though - really appreciate you posting.

I've got good news, that is primer on there for some reason. I just took a scotch pad to it for a brief second and there green under it. How much I don't know. I'll get you updated.

Dang, I have one buried in my garage rafters.

i think's it's light olive. It's very faded and some surface rust. Fairly straight if I recall.

I'm located in Santa Rosa, where are you?

In a few days I should be able to get that thing down to take a picture...

I did some scrubing and found it is primered grey because the top of the fenders were down to the original white primer

Re: WTB: 69-72 original paint med olive driver's side fender

okedoke - don't burn too many calories on it - but if you can post a pic of what a little area looks like after ya scotchbrite it, I might still be interested - even if it doesn't look great, it might tide me over til I can find a cherry one (i.e. it's closer to original than my currently fully primered fender...) And since you're gonna post some more pics - can you pls post a pic of the dent? I couldn't make out where it was - you just said it was "around the fender" Ha - that didn't narrow it down for me

Also, pls let me know what shipping would be to 93555 when you get a chance. Thanks scott.

I loved that Cheyenne Super - btw, only got a distant look at it, was this your C30 Longhorn?? (couldn't tell from the angle I saw it from driving by) - If it was, you better call 911 snd send EMS down to Edwards for Tim... (thinkin bout ya Tim! )
