Which intermediate shaft to use?

I am having Kevin (KevsClassics) powdercoat and build me a truck tilt as we speak. When that beautiful column gets completed I just don't want to hook it up to the old (dirty looking) intermediate shaft. Curious what everyone is doing? Having them blasted and painted or buying a new one? I hope I am calling it the right name, it's the shaft that connects to the rag joint and compresses if you get in a wreck.

I disassembled mine, sanded and painted, cleaned and re-lubed the joint, installed a fresh seal and seal clip. I also installed a NOS rag joint.

Where did u order your new parts? Didn't see them on LMC or Brothers.

It's a straight forward Do-It-Yourself kinda thing. I recommend you do it and save a little cash.

I got the seal and clip at Inline Tube, called a steering shaft boot. After a long search they are the only source I found. They will not list it for a C10 but they have them for 70s GTOs, Camaros, La Mans, firebirds, etc.

So if I order one for a 70's GTO it would be a direct replacement?

Thanks for the link! I decided to keep my factory shaft and just sand/paint it. Then order a new seal and clip like Lee did.

But what are you guys lubing the boot up with? What kind of grease?
