what year rally rims are these
i have a set of these rims on my truck, i want to paint them and put caps on them but im not sure what year they are from, i want to make sure before i buy caps or beauty rings for them and find out they wont fit, or even if anyone can tell me what style will fit and pics of different caps would help with my decision as well

73-87 Truck/Van Ralleys
They look like either the 6.5" wide Van or the 7" truck ones. Looks too skinny to be the 8" wide ralleys

Re: what year rally rims are these
These wheels are the same, just 8 inches wide and off a truck from the 73-87 body style. The caps are off od the 88-98 truck steel wheel and 454ss style steel wheel. You pull the space from behind on them and use self tapper style screw from the backside to screw them onto the wheel. |

Re: what year rally rims are these
Those look like van wheels (6.5 inches wide). Here are some photos of the wheels on my truck, with and without the trim rings.
I have a set of caps out in the shop if you're intersted. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=514830

Re: what year rally rims are these
thanks guys i figured they were from the 73-87 trucks but i needed to make sure, where do you measure from to find out the size of rim from outside to outside? what did the 8 inch rallies come on? the back tires on my truck are wider than the fronts im thinking they may be a wider rim than the front as they are a different color
gumby thanks for the pics my truck is flat black and i was going to paint my rims gloss black, i like the way they look and will definatly be painting them black now kcsa i might be able to get a set of caps for free but i will keep yours in mind if i cant find anythng |

Here's a link that will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about Rally Wheels and probably a few things you didn't.

Re: what year rally rims are these
Check with Majestics car club member Milt Raddish in Regina. I just saw he had a set of 5 in decent shape with rubber, trim rings and caps for like a $150 at the swap meet. 8 inch wide for all 5. If you call the car club I'm sure they'll put you in contact with him.

Re: what year rally rims are these
thanks for the lead on those rims gumby, but according to the link kcsa posted the 8 inch rims rub on lowered trucks, if mine was factory height they would have worked, if i didnt have 100 other things to do on my truck id buy them just so i have them but unfortunatly in the wants vs needs catagory needs comes out on top usually lol
are you putting the supercharger on your suburban? |

Re: what year rally rims are these
What rubbing concerns, on my 87 burb I had to Clearance the control arms but on my 72 I just have a smaller width tire on it and no real rubbing concerns. I'll post pics of it lowered 5 inches on the 8 inch wide
