Painted my truck.....sick.

Painted my truck blitz black last weekend and spent the rest of the week putting all the stuff back on. I'm very pleased how it turned out. Getting plenty of looks driving it around.

It's 2 3x8 sheets of 3/4" plywood. The strip in the middle covers the seam.

It's a hot rod looking black made by Valspar and sold by Fleet Farm and John Deere as a member has elaborated. I really like this stuff.

Re: Painted my truck.....sick.

I am not a fan of the blitz black paint[a John Deere paint with thousands of uses and VERY inexpensive] Although it is growing on me. I am however a fan of hard work and craftsmanship and I can tell that both went into this truck. very nice truck you have there sir. Enjoy with good health. Jim

Re: Painted my truck.....sick.

I might also need to add that the Blitz Black is growing in price along with its popularity. It used to be very inexpensive but now it is climbing the ladder of prices. It is made by Valspar and they also have thecolor under the Valspar company name [don't remember what it is called]and sometimes it can be had cheaper than the BB. Also another helpful hint the blitz black is the perfect color to put on a steering coloumn and looks good on frames and core supports and inner fenders too. The main problem I have with it on the ext of a truck [other than I am not yet over to the "flat" side] it may chalk up after beingexposed to the elements. Jim

It's still $35.00/gal. As far as the elements go, This is the first I heard that one, but not to worry. Will never see snow or salt and always kept inside, so it's cool. BTW, I'm using it on the interior when I'm ready to tackle that.

If you look at it close ( Notice photos far away), you can see some of the "rookie mistakes" in the body work. But your right that I worked my tail off on it.

Re: Painted my truck.....sick.

Nice job on the truck!
I like the Blitz Black. Reminds me of the old Plasticote "T-2 Hot Rod Black", which I painted my '69 GTO with some years ago.
