Talking I'm Working

I finally got hired somewhere today. Its a gas station over in Bethel Acres next to the High School. Its got a Simple Simon's Pizza place in it too. I only get to start out at three days a week and at $5.15 an hour but the owner said the more I work up there the more I get to work. Maybe now I can start saving up for that 383.

I added it up last night and I should have half the money by December. MY parents said they might go half way on the engine with me, but I think that offer only applied last year when I was broke and didn't have a chance in hell of getting any money.

Congrats on the job. I would grab items as you can buy them. Get the items you know you will need first and won't change like crank, rods, heads, etc. wait on the pistons until you know the block has been bored and is a good bore. On my old engine I was going to orded .030 pistons but had to bore further out. Glad I waited till machine shop was done.

better idea... have the bore checked, THEN order pistons, THEN have it bored and honed to size. better piston to wall clearance will make for a longer lasting, less oil consuming engine.
