c10 front clip on a AD frame
I have access to a free early 80's c10 frame and steering column. I think if i take the front cross member off and narrow it, it should fit the AD frame pretty well, and I think i may be able to make a mounting bracket for the steering box, but I am hoping for some input. I am going to be bagging the truck. I know the front suspension on those trucks lend themselves well to bags so I'm looking for opinions or people who have done it, any info or input would be greatly appreciated, and pics would be awesome!
Thanks Chris |

Re: c10 front clip on a AD frame
Haven't done it myself, but I did see one at a car show that had a C10 crossmember and 454 in it.

Re: c10 front clip on a AD frame
I just picked up my c10 front end that I will be modding to fit my 53 chevy. I hope to have my fitted, modded and in place by next weekend.
Here is a build thread from a member that has done it before. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=530662 Here is a site that Ive dealt with in past back in my mini truck days. Im doing my truck on the cheap ratrod style. Here is a very simple setup for the front of the 3rd gen c10 front. http://*************/-63-87-fullsize-...ag-bracket-kit keep us posted man. -wes |

Re: c10 front clip on a AD frame
I put one under my 3600. Narrowed the crossmember about an 1 1/2" and it bolted to the frame without having to use spacer plates.

Re: c10 front clip on a AD frame
Howdy Leadbetter (sp) did a bunch of them years ago an even wrote an article that was printed on one of the magazines. I don't know what year of crossmember he used though and it may have been a 67/68 which has a slightly narrower track with the drum brakes. I've been looking for a dead mid 70's dualie to rob for the suspension for my 1-1/2 ton 51 but I am so many projects behind right now that will probably never happen.
