wanted....affordable, working under dash a/c/heat

Going to need a/c in my shop truck if I'm going to drive it come this summer...

I can get a brand new setup around 700 at a show (complete with compressor and condenser)....trying to see what I can find on here....gm unit or aftermarket....with or without compressor/condenser but prefer complete. Also would consider trading a 100% complete stock a/c setup for an aftermarket setup...I don't want the bulkiness of the stock box....plan to shave my firewall...

Re: wanted....affordable, working under dash a/c/heat

I pulled the underdash unit from my 68 about 2 years ago.Never tried to make it work, although it was sealed at the time.
Has a York pump with the small block engine brackets for the passenger side.
Will need an expansion valve if you don't want to use R-12.And new hoses.
I also have the near perfect heat only parts and controls from the same truck.
Truck has 59,000 original miles.
Shipping would be a lot!
Make me an offer.
Mike.

Any pictures? If you can box it up and measure/weigh the boxes I could send a label for fedex to pick it up from you.

I'll try to find some pictures of some of it.
Means I got to look thru a lot of pictures!Might take a while!
I'm putting the factory system in mine.Got the under hood done-need to do the dash.
Do you have a near perfect a/c control unit?
Mike.

thanks, that compressor is huge so I'm going to pass.

As I research these more....I am leaning towards one that incorporates defrost also or a complete aftermarket a/c setup like vintage air/old air if I find a deal

FWIW, if you can, find something compatible with R134A. Isn't much problem converting but...just saying.

Re: wanted....affordable, working under dash a/c/heat

Hey there,
I have an underdash system that I bought from a board member awhile back, but sold the '68 it was going in. I was told it was working and it looks like it should work without a problem. It has pretty nice woodgrain on it. If your interested i could do 100.00 plus shipping (what I paid if I remember correctly). No compressor, just the underdash unit. Let me know if your interested.
