Anyone else jaded by their LS?
Anyone else not as interested in other motor builds after they have learned about and/or worked on an LS motor? Suddenly, talk of TBI upgrades and TPI swaps have me thinking, "why?" Instead of previously thinking "Sweet!". Anyone else feel the same?

Re: Anyone else jaded by their LS?
Haha, at car shows....unless it's got an LS, or boost....I no care.
But I'm kinda biased...I have done like 5 LS swaps, and have 4 spare 5.3s and 6.0s sitting around the shop

Re: Anyone else jaded by their LS?
I'm probably not the norm, but LS swaps to ma are almost boring now. Don't get me wrong, I still like them, but they aren't as awe inspiring as they used to be. Guess I've just been them too long. But yeah, an old small block does nothing at all for me anymore.

Re: Anyone else jaded by their LS?
I'm still working on my 5.3 in my S10,but I'll never do a carb motor rebuild again! I'm even thinking strong on a Ls for my Model A someday.

Re: Anyone else jaded by their LS?
An lsx swap is like being with your new girlfriend when your in high school....Second base isn't nearly as important once you've gone to third....and when you steal home, you forget you even ran the bases.

Re: Anyone else jaded by their LS?
Well then safe to say I'm not the only one! What started all this was a guy on another forum doing a huge overhaul to his tbi 350. Cost him like $3500. And I'm just thinking, dude! For the same price you could have done an ls and been way happier! Oh well. I have to say my heart is still with my first love which is a qjet topped stock 350. That's what started my love and thats got to be my favorite motor. But, for something that you want power, economy, and driveabilty from, ls is the best in ky opinion.

Re: Anyone else jaded by their LS?
I was initially going to go with an LT1 swap, had the motor for over a year and talked myself out of it for an LSx swap thanks to many of you on the forum. Sold the LT1 long block for twice as much as I paid for my 5.3. Although I have a long way to go with my build I'm glad I changed my mind. I love this forum!

Re: Anyone else jaded by their LS?
Once you swap an LS into something...you want to swap it into EVERYTHING.
Here's a jet boat I built a few year ago with a healthy 6.0L in it. Want to swap the BBC out of my big boat, and put a boosted LS in that too....ugh. haha. Was even featured by LSxTV http://www.lsxtv.com/news/swap-insan...ered-jet-boat/

Re: Anyone else jaded by their LS?
I hate my slow LS based motor. I keep having to change my ET goals. Now it is 9's naturally aspirated. Stupid money pit

Re: Anyone else jaded by their LS?
Don't say that. I am pulling the LT1 out of my Vette for my truck so I can put an LS in the Vette.
I don't want to spend the money for 2 Ls's.

Re: Anyone else jaded by their LS?
I'll be putting a 6.0L in my 64 but I still love Big Block Chevy's. Its hard to beat the massive torque you can get out of one so easily. That and being able to build one as large as 1000 CID if you can afford it.

Re: Anyone else jaded by their LS?
I'm still in the middle of my swap but like artic blaze said I wana do one in everything now! My next swap is going to be a s-10 extreme if I can find one for the rite price, those things are expensive even for a wrecked one.

Re: Anyone else jaded by their LS?
Wish I was closer to Vegas, and iv seen them a little cheaper, I'm hopin to score a slightly wrecked one or one with a bad motor, I love building my own projects, the 83 in my avatar was jus a cab sitting on a frame when I got it. Jus hate buying someone else's project, doesn't feel like mine, and this being my first ls swap I'm realy enjoying it. And yes a black on black extreme is what I'm looking for but my price is probly not even close to yours, lol.
