Should I buy this blazer?

well I've kinda been looking at blazers recently and I ran across this. I've never had a blazer so I'm not real sure what to look for. it's a 307 3 speed he says all the 4x4 stuff works but the steering is a little loose. I haven't seen it in person or drove it. what I would like to do is put a nice set of wheels and tires and a small lift and get rid of that nasty purple! what do you guys think and what would you pay for one in this condition?

Re: Should I buy this blazer?

For reference, we just bought a 69 K5, body was in worse shape than that one, had some rust in the floors, but not nearly as bad as that one, came with a hard top, spare door, new fenders and rockers (NOS GM parts), and a new soft top (had been sitting in package for about 10 years though). Non running 350 and th350. We paid $600, the guy was initially asking $1500.

Pics of it

I probably wouldn't go over $1000 unless it ran/drove good, then maybe $1200-$1500.

Unless you want to spend more time fixing it than enjoying it - keep looking.

I just bolted mine back together after fixing all the rust over the past few years.

Re: Should I buy this blazer?

well the search continues.. this thing turned out to be pretty bad the tops was pretty bad and the lift gate was basically in 2 pieces.. then the underside was pretty bad as well. more work then I want to put into one right now but I know where a better one is so I may go ask and see if they wanna sell it.

Re: Should I buy this blazer?

if the top wasnt so bad I think I would get it. plus I think there was a lot of plastic hiding in the body.

Re: Should I buy this blazer?

That was my thought - if the rear floor looked that bad, I'd bet that pretty purple paint was hiding a lot of surprises! Keep looking. It'd be worth shipping a solid one across country vs. paying to have the entire body redone. Unless that's all part of the fun for you...

Re: Should I buy this blazer?

I would pass and I have done some pretty extensive rust repairs on a blazer.

Buying one that is solid already is wise choice and well worth the money...
