Re: The new Overhaulin' - Chuck Schafer's '54 Chevy pickup
I DVR'd this episode. I liked how the truck turned out. I was not sure when I heard the guy liked stock trucks. Foose did a great job of blending styles. IMHO it turned out better than the Camaro from the most recent episode. I was not that impressed.

I kinda liked the 54 but also wish they had kept the Caddy engine that had been put in it by the owner's family at some point. Made it a little more unique. It's not like there's no options available for rebuilding the Caddy engines. |

A bit tame for my style, but it's really growing on me. Great stance. That Camaro was pretty, but I HATE when you have an old car with the hubcap wheels. Old cars better have a barrel to 'em, especially if they're supposed to be bad azz.

Re: The new Overhaulin' - Chuck Schafer's '54 Chevy pickup
Also so far both the truck and esspecially Camaro were pretty decent to start with. Do they still only take 7 days? Since the new season has started I haven't noticed the countdown to raveal day like they used to. I wonder if they are starting with better cars and not giving themselves the hard 7 day deadline.
Just curious. Don't get me wrong I love the show. Marc

Re: The new Overhaulin' - Chuck Schafer's '54 Chevy pickup
I didn't know that was back on and it was the only one of those car shows that I watched before. The truck turned out pretty decent for the time they have to work on it.
I'd have to think that the crate motor went in for a few reasons. Less expensive then redoing the Cad engine along with the time involved and sponsorship for the show. |

How much would a job like that go for?
I like it better when members on our site put together a project better~ it's more personal. ; ) There's a bonding associated with a project. But this truck here is nice! ; ) I like my truck better ha ha! lol

I like it but I'm not really feeling the wheel and tire combo, possibly because of the upward view. I'd like to see some pics of it sitting on the ground.

Re: The new Overhaulin' - Chuck Schafer's '54 Chevy pickup
Agreed. Chip is a GREAT guy if you ever get a chance to meet him. The guy would give you the shirt off of his back, literally. Humble, not arrogant. Will spend the time to talk to you, even if he's busy. The poor guy is stretched so thin with schedules, deadlines, sponsorship commitments, and his own shop to run. I don't know how he does it.

Re: The new Overhaulin' - Chuck Schafer's '54 Chevy pickup
I think the truck turned out great. I do think a later model seat would have suited the truck and customer better. The owner was on top of the steering wheel.
