It's easy to spot $65k on that truck. Every single thing is custom. Take a thousand dollars and spend it 65 times looking at that truck. It would take no time at all.

If you built it yourself it's yours and this truck is MINE. Nobody turned a wrench on it but me. I bought a few parts, I bought a few raw materials like the paint and the leather for the interior but this truck is MINE. I built it and there's a few more out there that subscribers to this board built that make mine look a bit amateurish by comparison but we can all say we built our trucks.

Oh, yeah, it turned a 10.21 in the quarter at Southwestern International Dragway...with the AC ON!

If all you can do is throw stones at a truck posted here then the problem isn't with the truck, it's with you.

Nice truck! But if you put a price on it and I thought it was a good deal, then it would be MINE, not yours anymore =)

I have zero problems with people that dont have the skills to build their own rides and have them built by the pros. Helps keep the auto hobby economy going. I just dont like it if someone tries to take credit for someone else work.

As far as having 65 G's in a ride and you cant figure out how that happened, you really aren't very deep in to the car hobby. I could never come up with that kind of dough to spend on a ride, but I see it done all the time on TV, magazines, and on the internet.

ItsRandy: just can't understand why someone would or could loose that much money on a truck. you said you would be keeping yours...this man is trying to sell his, its a sharp truck, and i guess some one will buy the truck, most of the time you can buy a tricked out truck cheaper that you can build one, just like this truck....i guess i am just old school , or maybe grew up in a way different time....everyone hear can spend as much on there truck as they want to, i know i have more in mine than i expected to, and i plan on doing more as i can....like others have stated depends on how deep your pockets are...i have watched the TV shows where all the big name builders build these great cars and trucks, but in my mind i just can't make it work....i guess i just don't get it, and i guess i never will....and maybe it will work out for me ....i hope your truck works out for you, good luck on your build....have fun with it.

Randy has owned this truck for 30 years. 20 of those years he used his truck for work and to support his family (old school style). I am quite certain that over those 20 years his truck made him a lot more than 30K. It is the truck his son grew up in and learned how to drive in. It is a member of his family, and in its retirement has received a royal restoration treatment to include a crate 502 and a show quality 2 stage paint job, not counting hundreds of hours of block sanding. Oh...and he planned this restoration and began saving for it 20 years ago so that he would not have to mortgage his house or use a credit card to do so. I don't think it gets any more Old School than that.

leddzepp: i totally agree with you, and i believe that our trucks will loose value as we drive them, just like the brand new ones do, if you invest in these trucks and drive them awhile you will be getting some of your money back, just in money saved in monthly payments. randy has a great truck, one that anyone would be proud to own, as long as he has had the truck, and plans to keep it and drive it and have fun with it , in the long run he will have made his money back, i fell the money that i have in ole dollor will be well spent, i will drive it and get my money back out of it, then may even pass it down to my grand son.to have fun with......

YES, but a lot depends on circumstance.I don't know the exact number I will have in mine but it will be between 40 and 50 and I have done every bit of work my self except the paint and body and I got a buddy deal on that. It is posable to spend that and more if you try real hard.

Coddington built a sectioned 57 Chevy that was Roadstered.When I saw it they had put over $240,000 in it.It went back for more work.....
$65,000 is a drop in the bucket compared.

i think it would be a lot better, if you did all the work your self....that is where the fun is....building something for you......that may be a $65,000.00 truck....and he may have that much money in it.....but what is it really worth....how many people here would spend that kind of money on a truck and be able to sell it for what you put into it.....just wondering.....

I knew going into it I would most likely spend more money building my truck than I would be able to sell it for. Like Big Al (who has a very nice truck by the way), I have a drawer full of receipts (north of 20k and I hope south of 30k) and have only farmed out the interior work, I have done everything else myself.

To answer your question: I would be one who would spend that kind of money building a truck and could have spent way more than I have so far, the only difference is I have no thought of selling mine. My truck is worth, to me, whatever I spend on it.

I did everything on my truck myself. I have almost no bling, but some nice parts. I was frugal, and tried to keep from busting the bank. I still spent north of $20K.

Without even trying I could spend $65K on a truck! With a little effort, I could spend $100K

Who says the seller is asking $65,000? They just stated they had that much in it. The Buy it Now is $39,900. I think the question here is,"Could you build this truck for $40k?"

That is a really nice truck, but I can't see that kind of money for a truck with no AC (or even heat!) and not bagged. Unfortunately for the seller, I have seen trucks with all of this for his asking price...
