Re: need help

Need some more info... Which engine? What are you plans with the vehicle? Power wise? Carb? FI? ect.... You will need a flex plate, torque converter, trans, different trans mount, and kick down linkage for starters.

You need the th350 short tail and 205 transfer case, I happen to have both that will be for sale here in CA. I actually did this swap from a manual to auto. I stressed about it for too long and it was super simple and straight forward. I bought a tilt auto shift column and new Trans and t case, hi hump with only t case hole and shift linkage. Let me know if you know someone in Cali headed your way!

Torque converter
Flex plate
Starter
Kick down cable
Trans cooler lines
I changed radiators to a four core with cooler line inlets, but you could do an external Trans cooler for cheap.
As far as Trans mount, I used my original as it is the tease that is on the mount.

Of course you can always go a different route like 700r4 Trans

Hey beonkey, what tilt column did you buy? How was the quality? And how much did you spend? Very interested! Did it fit well in the k5?

Thanx for the help!

Hi
I bought a rebuilt van tilt, so it is about 1.5" shorter which gives me more room. It was ready to bolt in and came with intermediate shaft as well. I really like it and its good quality. I met this guy at Pomona swap meet out near me and he shipped it to me when completed. The company name is steering column pros
