That finished 66 is one of the coolest trucks I’ve ever seen!

Here’s mine with a different before and updated after photo:

lets see before and after rebuild pics

Here are a couple pictures of a truck I just bought. It's a '65 that should make a pretty nice driver. It's well optioned: 283, PG, BBW, PS, PB, AC. It is non gauge and non factory radio. This is definitely a BEFORE picture.
I know, the stripes have to go! May drive it as is for a while, but my plans are for modifications with a resto mod theme. Period correct 327 backed by a 700R4, 5 lug conversion, a mild drop, American TTO wheels.
I want the interior and exterior to remain basically stock. Fawn inside and the original pale yellow outside. Paint code 548.
One thing that puzzles me is the fact that it has most all the custom trim items but has a painted grille and bumper. I have no idea if the truck was ever wrecked.

Re: lets see before and after rebuild pics

I call this my "Rattle Can" restoration. Bought this one out of California. 66 GMC Custom Carryall. The original v6 was seized up so I installed a 1970 400 SB automatic, 72 disc brakes, 2 inch dropped spindles, later PS out of a 76 truck. I two toned the body with Krylon satin white with matched rims. Firewall I had a paint store match the GMC green in a rattle can. The idea was to use parts I already had and build a low budget driver.

Nicely done Jon. The addition of the white panel is spot on. That thin GMC trim looks so much better with a two-tone paint scheme. What a great driver!.

Re: lets see before and after rebuild pics

Wow I like everything you've done, but especially that small block GMC engine! Those decals are too cool. The whole rig looks so well thought out. The two tone brings the whole truck alive, along with the wheels, hubcaps, etc. And that beautiful chrome front end is the finishing touch. Nice job.
