Wiring question.
I'm installing a air horn in our truck and I need a accessory wire that is only powered on when the key is in the on position so the air compressor wont run unless the truck is turned on. I was wondering which one will work, any help would be great. Thank you guys in advanced.

Re: Wiring question.
Pink, try and find one. That is a igintion switched color, there should be one under the dash as well as at the connector block on the firewall.

Trevor, It would be marked "IGN UNFUSED" on the fuse box (Spade terminal). If you want a fuse in the circuit you would have to put one in the wire to the compressor. LockDoc

Re: Wiring question.
Your question is lacking in details. IF you run a wire to your compressor from a key on source then your compressor would be hot anytime the key is on. I assume you plan to run the wire to a button switch, which when pushed, would power the compressor and blow the horn.
Here is the fuse panel with the ign unfused terminal that Lockdoc mentions. lower left center. If your compressor is a larger amp draw then you might consider using a relay that is switched on by the same wire from the button switch. When pushed it would close the relay and allow a larger wire from a battery source, not key on, to power the compressor. Quote:

Re: Wiring question.
Hey thanks guys. Sorry for the vague question. I have the compressor wired from the battery post(positive) with a fuse in the circuit. The air tank has a pressure switch that you run the air compressor wire to so when the tank is full the switch will kill the compressor. The pressure switch also has a accessory on switch that you hook up so the compressor wont run unless the key is in the on position, that's the wire I need to run into a wire in the truck that is on only when the key is in the on position so it'll work properly.
