Blazer Vin #??

How can I know what month was my 72 blazer rolled off the assembly line? The blue decal on the door jamb is long gone. Thanks!

Re: Blazer Vin #??

Can't find anything. I don't think is on the vin. It only tells you the last number of the year was made. Mine says 1 which is 71. But doesn't say what month. Could be Octuber, November, December??

Re: Blazer Vin #??

your blazer looks like a 72:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=160357

and page 2 of the pdf for blazers:
http://service.gm.com/dealerworld/vi.../vincard72.pdf

I don't see month on page either.

Re: Blazer Vin #??

there may be some other way, and I know its not the same as the final build date, but I think the seat belts have a month code on them

Start searching VIN numbers that are close to yours. The post below has a pic with vin # CKE182S153691 .... thats only 97 builds away from yours...

Re: Blazer Vin #??

Thanks! Anyone have a Blazer with their vin# close to mine with build date? My original seat belts are long gone too.

Re: Blazer Vin #??

The NP205 transfer case has a plate on the front with the exact date of manufacture stamped on it. I have always found it to match the date on the door sticker.

Thanks! I found it and it says 1/14/72 next to "serial number". I thought it would be an earlier build since it is #3788 built and they were 44,266.
