Re: drive line angle

If it is a one piece shaft, the two yokes should be at the same angle.

Not a valid question, since it varies based on ride height, axle orientation, engine angle, etc.

This should answer most (if not all) your questions:

Ollie's information/link is good, too - says the same thing a little differently.

Basically you want the u joint working angles to be between 1 and 3 degrees (under load), and such that the front joint cancels out (is equal and opposite) the rear joint.

Can you describe the vibration/shake a bit more?

Does it increase with vehicle speed?

Does it increase and then get better, or just continually worse with vehicle speed?

Does it do it under drive, coast or steady state operation?

Does it do it in neutral (stopped) by running the engine up?

Re: drive line angle

Thanks for the information.I set the rear of the truck on jack stands and spun the wheels and it seems like I have a tire that has a wooble or maybe a flat spot or bent rim..Im going to dismount tire and make sure rim is not bent. The shake/vibration starts at about 50mph and gets worse from thier.I let out of the throttle and its still their untill I get under 50mph.

Re: drive line angle

That sounds like a tire.

Driveline usually gets worse to a point, and then better as you increase speed. That's because the mass of the driveline doesn't have enough energy to drive a vibration throughout the whole truck without the multiplication factor of the resonance.

Driveline is also always torque dependent so you should be able to make it worse and better by tipping in and out of the throttle.

Tires - they're just bad. All the time (lol) - until you get below a certain speed.
